Contents
--------
BOINC is open-source software platform for distributed
computing using volunteered computer resources.

In this release you can partecipate at 2 projects:
- Milkyway
- SetiatHome
In beta state is einstein@home and ClassicalDynamics@home

If there are a people that can test this application, they can
report me the results.
I hope in the near future that will be release others projects source code.

This port is brought to you by:
Vincenzo Venuto <vincenzo.venuto@poste.it>, development, porting

System requirements
-------------------
- eComStation all versions (I hope!)
- OS/2 Warp
- 32bit tcpip stack
- UNI or SMP systems
- Processors: FPU,MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,3dNow,3dNowPlus
I have test Boinc on Intel DualCore system, AMD sempron 3000+, Pentium4.

Notes:
------
Milkyway application was compiled with SSE2 instruction set. If you don't have
processor with this feature, you can't run this application.
The SSE2 feature is present in Pentium4 and up.
Setiathome detect and use the following feature: FPU,MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,3dNow,3dNowPlus
Is important that you have a multiprocessor system becouse this scentific applicatons
running in multithread mode. In a multiprocessor system, this threads was
distribuited across the processors with high performance.

Installation
------------
After unzip the archive, enter in bin folder and start bc.cmd
Boinc_client detect CPU type and features.
If boinc_client don't detect your processor or fetures... Ask!
This script startup the boinc_client with some settings.

[C:\apps\boinc\bin]start bc.cmd

Running Benchmarks of your system:

[C:\apps\boinc\bin]boinc_cmd --run_benchmarks

Wait for benchmarks completion...

After that, you can execute setiathome.cmd or milkyway.cmd with your data account
for project connecting:

For example milkyway.cmd:
milkyway.cmd <username> <password>

For example setiathome.cmd:
setiathome.cmd <username> <password>

Terminate the boinc_client:

[C:\apps\boinc\bin]boinc_cmd --quit

Set every <min_rpc_time> to 0.0 in client_state.xml, otherwise you have
to wait 24 hours for the first work unit.
Run the Boinc client again:

[C:\apps\boinc\bin]start bc.cmd

Known problems
--------------
- Please report me any problems.

Support
-------
Since this is a OpenSource freeware product there are no
formal support options available.
Please use the seti-warp mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com

Donations
---------
If you want to donate me and support OS/2 developement, ask!
At least, a post card is welcome!
