Baby Mush Version 0.90

INTRODUCTION

Baby Mush is an OS/2 clone of the various "bang the keyboard" games
available for small children on the Mac and other platforms. The game
is very simple, anytime a key or mouse button is pressed a shape appears
on the screen and a sound is played through the PC speaker.

Baby Mush is a full screen Presentation Manager program. It cannot be moved
or minimized. This is necessary to protect your important stuff from any
baby playing the game. To shut down Baby Mush you must use CTRL-ESC to call
up the program window and close it from there. I hope to improve the exit
procedure in future releases.

LICENSE AGREEMENT

Baby Mush is shareware. You are free to use the program for a period
of 30 days for the purpose of evaluation. If you decide to continue
using the program after the 30 day evaluation period, you must
register it. To register, send $5 (US funds, please) to:

You may make copies of this program and distribute them freely, as
long as you include all of the files that you originally received with
your shareware copy. When you give a shareware copy of this program
to another person, you agree to inform them that their copy is to be
used for a time limited evaluation period, and that they must register
their copy if they continue to use the program after the end of the
evaluation period. You may not sell or distribute this program for a
fee in excess of media costs and/or shipping charges actually incurred
in copying and distributing this program.

STANDARD DISCLAIMER

THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED "AS-IS", WITH NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
FITNESS OF PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THOMAS MCKIBBEN II OR SHADE PLANET
SOFTWARE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF USE OF THIS
PROGRAM.

INSTALLATION

There are 2 files comprising the Baby Mush installation:

SPBABY.EXE - the executable
README.TXT - the README file (this file)

These files can go anywhere you want. After you've decided wher to put
them, just create a program object for it in the usual way. If you are
not sure how to do this, consult your OS/2 Manual or the online help.

One other thing you must do is disable print screen in the system settings
notebook. Version 0.90 of Baby Mush doesn't remap this key. Later versions
will include this and other features.

ABOUT SHADE PLANET SOFTWARE

Right now Shade Planet Software is just me! But I hope to gain enough
experience to write things that people running OS/2 can use. Baby Mush came
out of a need for me to let my 1.5 year old daughter touch daddy's computer.

I can be contacted via email at tmckibbn@midway.uchicago.edu.
